I was out with my lad Eddie on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the park. He was making some really funny faces in his new winter coat. I couldn't resist taking this set of pictures of him. His bright blue eyes and rosy red cheeks are really striking against the colours of his coat.
01.11.09. dont panic
A simple way of life in a simple monarchy. Original is uncomplicated. It is pure in it's meaning and function. Although there may be many incarnations of an original theme, there ultimately remains 'The Original'. I entered this poster into the Dont Panic 'design the poster' competition. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.
05.10.09. the sword is mightier than the pen
Defiled Poet was putting on club/band nights under the name 'Asylum Presents...'. I created all the branding and visuals including a set of iconic images for him to use as stage back-drops. This was one of my favourites.
20.07.09. old skool
My mum and dad named me dirty author, but I had it changed by deed poll to brave citizen. They weren't impressed, I think they thought I was growing up too fast. Anyway, I was hunting through my old things when I came across these illustrations from an old dirty author portfolio. I was a lot more colourful back in those days.
10.09.09. Arnold & Patterson
Me and my friend Defiled Poet are working on a few ideas for a comedy sketch based on two eccentric senior citizens called Arnold & Patterson. The whole thing is pretty abstract and based on email conversations between the two characters. Their discussions take them to strange, dark places where they reminisce about old friends and past shenanigans. I created these illustrations to support the dialogue between Arnold & Patterson. Hopefully we'll bring you more on this soon.
02.03.09. pissed up drawings
A while back I created a Flickr group called Pissed Up Drawings with Graylabel. The idea is that people submit their drawings, sketches, doodles, and general paper based artistic brain dumps. The group is growing nicely, we've had loads of cool contributions so far. Head over there and take a look, or better still contribute your own PUD's for all to see.
